LSU Football Makes Multiple Moves in the Transfer Portal

Baton Rouge has seen a flurry of activity as Lane Kiffin and his coaching staff continue to reshape the roster for the upcoming season. The offensive line, in particular, has received an upgrade with the addition of Tennessee offensive lineman William Satterwhite. This marks the second offensive lineman that LSU has landed this transfer portal window, and Satterwhite was high on the coaching staff's list.

Another key development involves the potential return of LSU running back Caden Durham. Kevin Smith, the new running backs coach, met with Durham, who is currently in the transfer portal, in an effort to convince him to stay in Baton Rouge. This meeting comes after Durham entered the portal on January 3, and it's the first time Smith has met with him since he moved to Ole Miss during its College Football Playoff run.

In addition to these moves, LSU hosted USC freshman transfer quarterback Husan Longstreet on Saturday night. Longstreet, a former five-star recruit, played in four games for the Trojans this season, completing 13 of 15 passes for 103 yards with a touchdown and adding 76 yards and two scores on the ground.

New Additions and Key Players

The wait for a quarterback in this transfer portal class has finally come to an end for LSU fans. Lane Kiffin and his staff have landed Elon transfer quarterback Landen Clark, who announced his commitment via social media. As a freshman, Clark threw for 2,321 yards, 18 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

LSU also added South Alabama edge rusher Achilles Woods, who had 11 tackles, including a sack, during his freshman season with the Jaguars. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Ole Miss transfer wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. is in Baton Rouge for a visit, and he confirmed his visit on social media. Watkins, who was recruited by Kiffin to Ole Miss, had 26 receptions for 373 yards and a touchdown in his freshman season with the Rebels.

Defensive Line and Secondary Additions

LSU continues to bolster its defensive front with the addition of Southern defensive back Treylan James. James had 26 tackles, five passes defended, and a forced fumble during his sophomore season with the Jaguars and has two years of eligibility left.

Another defensive addition came from Florida State transfer offensive lineman Mario Nash, who is visiting LSU despite having committed to Mississippi State. Nash is rated the No. 32 offensive tackle in the transfer portal, according to the 247Sports Composite.

LSU football also added McNeese State transfer receiver Josh Jackson, who had 258 receiving yards last season. With Jackson’s commitment, LSU now has six wide receivers in the transfer portal class.

Wide Receiver Depth

LSU continues to add depth at the wide receiver position with the commitment of Illinois transfer Malik Elzy, who had 16 catches for 213 yards with four touchdowns over three seasons at Illinois. He left the team in September and could have up to three years of eligibility remaining.

LSU football also signed West Florida WR transfer Tyree Holloway, who had 661 yards and eight touchdowns on 34 receptions last season. Holloway's commitment brings LSU's total to eight wide receiver signees and commits in this year's transfer portal class.

LSU football lands Charlotte RB Rod Gainey out of the transfer portal. Gainey rushed for 260 yards as a freshman in 2025. Clemson transfer DL Stephiylan Green also committed to LSU, adding much-needed depth along the defensive front.

Former LSU football tackle Carius Curne has committed to Ole Miss, continuing the trend of players moving between the programs. Meanwhile, LSU running back Kewan Lacy has decided to stay at Ole Miss, ending speculation about his potential move.
